Summary
Anxiety is an abnormal and overwhelming sense of apprehension and fear ranging from mild unease to intense fear, often marked by physiological signs such as sweating, tension and increased pulse. Everyone experiences a certain amount of apprehension and nervousness in a stressful situation, but when the anxiety state becomes prolonged or excessive, seeking help is advised.

There are several types of anxiety disorder including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorders, obsessive compulsive dsorder, phobic disorders, acute stress disorder and post traumatic stress syndrome.
