Overcoming Cardiovascular Problems
Summary
Most people fear heart disease — and with good reason: it’s the leading cause of death for both men and women. But something that people may not realize is that preventing this disease is often within their control. Heart disease accounts for over 50% of all deaths and includes such problem as chest pain (angina), hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), heart attack (myocardial infarction) and stroke.
Signs and Symptoms
NB no symptoms are usually present until lesions are big enough to inhibit circulation. Most blood vessels have to be 90% occluded before symptoms occur
- angina
- frequent leg cramps
- dizziness
- heartburn
- minor exercise causes exhaustion
- dyspnea ( difficult breathing )
- fatigue
- palpitations
- oedema
- anxiety
- feet and ankles swell frequently
- rapid heart beat
- cyanosis (blue colouration of the skin )
