Overcoming Fatigue


Summary

Fatigue is a state of exhaustion, loss of energy, strength or endurance, increased discomfort and decreased efficiency resulting from prolonged or excessive exertion. Fatigue, along with stress related health issues, is one of the most common and misdiagnosed patterns seen in a medical practice today.

Signs and Symptoms

  • easily fatigued
  • tiredness not relieved by sleep
  • afternoon low between 2 and 5pm
  • cravings
  • feeling of weakness
  • malaise
  • diminished work capacity
  • poor libido
  • mental sluggishness
  • inability to concentrate

Possible Causes Or Contributing Factors

  1. hypoglycaemia ( blood sugar problems )
  2. overstressed adrenals due to stressful lifestyle
  3. low thyroid function
  4. chronic nutritional deficiencies
  5. liver / colon toxicity
  6. poor digestion or assimiilation
  7. anaemia (especially in women)
  8. poor sleeping patterns
  9. poor or inadequate diet
